Disclosure: Before moving on, the blog posts contains affiliate links and when purchased I get a commission. These are all services that I support and use.
Choosing a Niche.
There is also a things to keep in mind when starting a blog and how you want it to generate income. Factors like what is your niche and what type of value will you provide to your readers?
Real estate blogs are extremely hard to keep up with because of how busy anyone in real estate can be. It’s surprising how I find some successful realtors pushing out tons of content weekly. To their benefit, they get major traffic to their real estate site.
Choosing a Host.
Who will host your website? Choose someone reliable as this can also impact your SEO in terms of site speed. If your site is running slow, then you will definitely get a high bounce rate.
Choosing your Theme.
Choose a good theme for WordPress or whichever platform you choose. Make sure its optimized for SEO and good with updates. What good is a website if it hasn’t been updated with the latest security patches in years.
I personally build my site using the Genesis framework. I’ve never looked back and is one of the best ways to build out a website. Check out my other blog post as to why Genesis is my preferred method.
So now we can try to figure out how you can profit from the blog. Will you be doing affiliate marketing? That might be the best bet. When you write a blog about a niche, I’m sure there are some tools you can bring up. Why not try and profit from that?
“I started using this tool around my house and it works great! If you want to check it out view here!” and then link to that product with your affiliate link so you get commission per sale made through your blog.
Don’t forget to disclose that it is an affiliate link and you make some type of commission for purchases through that link.
Starting a successful blog is hard. You need to find a way to provide some type of value for a client.
Most people will get the idea of getting rich by blogging from watching these pumped up videos on how to make money. Then they do searches to find out what’s in trend and try to blog about that because that is where the traffic and profit is.
Never works or doesn’t last long.
With that being said. Blog about something you’re passionate in.
